Welcome to AnswerIt AI. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our Chrome extension, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Service Description

AnswerIt AI is a Chrome browser extension and web service that provides AI-powered answers to questions and content you select from webpages. The Service includes:

• Chrome extension for capturing screenshots and text from webpages
• AI-powered analysis and answer generation
• Credit-based usage system
• User account management and dashboard
• Payment processing for credit purchases and subscriptions

The Service is provided "as is" and we reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 13 years of age
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• All information you provide is accurate and current

If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the Service.

4. User Accounts

4.1 Account Creation

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

You may delete your account at any time through your dashboard. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activities.

5. Credit System

5.1 How Credits Work

Our Service operates on a credit-based system:

• Free Daily Credits: 10 credits per day, reset at midnight (your local time)
• Purchased Credits: One-time credit packs that never expire
• Subscription Credits: Monthly credits (500) plus daily bonus credits (20) for subscribers
• Credit Usage: Most questions consume 1 credit; complex queries may use more

5.2 Credit Purchases

You can purchase credit packs or subscribe for monthly credits. All purchases are:

• Processed securely through LemonSqueezy
• Non-transferable between accounts
• Non-refundable except as stated in Section 6.4
• Subject to applicable taxes

5.3 Credit Expiration

• Free Daily Credits: Expire at midnight daily; do not roll over
• Purchased Credits: Never expire
• Subscription Credits: Monthly credits roll over up to a maximum of 1,000; daily bonus credits reset daily

5.4 No Cash Value

Credits have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash, transferred, or exchanged except as explicitly provided in these Terms.

6. Payment Terms

6.1 Pricing

Current pricing is available on our Pricing page. We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but price changes will not affect existing credit balances or active subscriptions until renewal.

6.2 Payment Processing

All payments are processed by LemonSqueezy, our third-party payment processor. By making a purchase, you agree to LemonSqueezy's terms and conditions. We do not store your payment information.

6.3 Subscriptions

If you subscribe to a monthly plan:

• Your subscription automatically renews monthly
• You will be charged on the same day each month
• You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• No refunds for partial months
• Unused monthly credits roll over (up to 1,000 maximum)

6.4 Refund Policy

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all credit purchases and first-time subscriptions:

• Request a refund within 14 days of purchase
• Refunds are issued to the original payment method
• Used credits will be deducted from your account
• Refunds may take 5-10 business days to process
• Abuse of the refund policy may result in account termination

6.5 Taxes

You are responsible for any applicable taxes, duties, or government charges. Prices displayed may not include taxes, which will be calculated at checkout based on your location.

7. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service to cheat on proctored exams or violate academic integrity policies
• Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use the Service to create competing products or services
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Engage in fraudulent activities or payment disputes
• Resell or redistribute credits or access to the Service

Important Note on Academic Use: While AnswerIt AI is designed as a learning tool to help you understand concepts and study effectively, we strongly encourage ethical use. Using the Service to cheat on proctored exams violates academic integrity policies and may result in serious consequences from your institution. We recommend using the Service for homework help, study preparation, and learning—not for dishonest academic practices.

8. Chrome Extension Terms

8.1 Installation and Use

By installing the Chrome extension, you agree to:

• Grant the necessary permissions for the extension to function
• Use the extension only on websites where you have the right to capture content
• Comply with the terms of service of websites you visit
• Not use the extension to violate copyright or intellectual property rights

8.2 Extension Updates

The extension may update automatically through the Chrome Web Store. You agree to accept such updates, which may include new features, bug fixes, or changes to functionality.

8.3 Uninstallation

You may uninstall the extension at any time through Chrome's extension management page. Uninstalling does not delete your account or credit balance.

9. Intellectual Property Rights

9.1 Our Rights

The Service, including all content, features, functionality, software, and design, is owned by AnswerIt AI and is protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

9.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service (screenshots, text selections). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to:

• Process your submissions through our AI service
• Store usage logs and metadata for service improvement
• Use anonymized, aggregated data for analytics and research

We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it for purposes beyond providing the Service, except as required by law.

9.3 Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us the right to use such feedback without compensation or attribution.

10. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

The answers and explanations provided by our Service are generated by artificial intelligence and should be used as educational assistance only. You acknowledge that:

Upon termination, you forfeit any unused credits (no refunds for unused credits).

14.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if:

• You violate these Terms
• You engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activities
• We are required to do so by law
• Your account has been inactive for an extended period

14.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ceases. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including payment obligations, intellectual property rights, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive.

16. General Provisions

16.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and AnswerIt AI regarding the Service.

16.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

16.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.

16.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.

16.5 Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of government, or network failures.
